No Nightmares
I begged for a dream
Yet I was only greeted by darkness
A veil of noir clouding my mind
I begged for a dream
Feeling at ease laying down with her head on my chest
The world where all was peaceful and the sun was bright
I begged for a dream, a dream that would never come
A train that would never leave the station
A sentence that was never spoken
On these nights my only hope was to fall into that place in my mind where all was calm
The white nights I endured never brought me comfort
Only begging, and when asked why I long to reach a dream
I replied "that's the only time I wake with no nightmares"
