I googled today

Why oil doesn’t mix with water

It said:

“Oil wants to break down waters hydrogen bonds

So that it may be able to dissolve

Water will not do this

So the oil is forced to stay separate

From the water”

Oil and water do not mix

Because oil wants to improve herself

At the cost of her friends

Hydrogen bonds.

And water wants oil to get better

But cannot risk losing himself

So that she can dissolve

Oil is toxic to the water

And those who hang out

With him

Poisoning the lives of every

Person she touches

No matter how close

Or how far

Oil wants to change

To be better

But she’s already tried mixing with water

And he’s already been tainted

With her venom

The only way to change

Is through a separation funnel

So they do

Go their own ways,

But water is forever changed by oil

And oil has seen nothing

Taken everything

I googled today

Why oil does not mix with water

And instead learned that I am oil

And they are water

The author's comments:

I wrote this piece during a rough period in my life and I genuinely did get the idea from googling why oil doesn't mix with water. I'm in a much better place now and am really proud of how this turned out!
