Flight of the Heart

Please, take me anywhere but home

Somewhere where we can be all alone

In the deepest of caves — in the dark of the night

Somewhere where we can be the light

You drop me off at my doorstep

A step that leads to misery

I know you're trying to be kind

But please, take me anywhere but home

We could ride our bikes in the sun

All day, every day is fun

You could kiss me under the moonlight

Almost like we're taking flight

Imagine the things we could do without their watchful eye

My love — it's time for us to take control

My bruises are an example of my neverending prison

My love — we could be our own prism

I know you're scared, and I am too

Finally leaving this little old town

It's what we want, what we need

Our frowns will disappear

We'll take it slow, one day at a time

Until we come out — together — and finally arise

Please, take me anywhere but home

I'll be here — waiting — on the phone
