In the valleys of loneliness,

Something twitches my mind

Which sounds so unkind.

A silent battle rises-

Between me and my mind.

Oh you dark eyed beauty-

What good are you for?

Isn't it such a pity

For a little girl like you to be here,

In this hour of darkness.

Humans are mere villains

Murderers of your mind and soul.

And you o fool,

Such a weak being

Who can't propound revenge against them.

Oh you cursed creature

Who tortures my being-

Is filled with mere ignorance.

Look around, you devil.

This world is a magnificent realm,

And those humans are my brothers.

They gift me with love and joy,

With peace and kindness.

And now leave me alone

I am exhausted with your slanderous words

Which sound so malicious

And wrenches my tender soul.

The author's comments:

The poem explores the internal quarrel between the narrator and an opposing voice within the mind. This silent battle highlights a tension between despair and a yearning for connection and acceptance. The poem contrasts the narrator's appreciation for the beauty and kindness found in humanity with the dark, cynical accusations made by the inner voice. Through vivid imagery and emotional introspection, the poem captures the complex interplay of light and darkness within the human psyche.
