Blood is Thicker than Water. Honey is Thicker than Blood.
Unsteady dripping from the rusty overhead pipe
falls to molded concrete.
It isn’t water.
Blood.
Rivulets find a corner
to pool iron contents.
Beside lie thirty-eight exposed toes on four exposed feet on six exposed legs.
Torsos and heads dangle on chained arms
waiting for the nothing-in-particulars
of “living”.
Stiff hinges scream and sterile light now reflects on glass eyes.
But not-demons and cries of alert flood the chamber.
Salvation.

Based on a mix of reality and fiction. This isn't an impossible scenario, yet the only true stories we hear of are those that have already reached a conclusion. It ends with a golden light at the end of the tunnel for these three, thankfully.
