Embers of Ascent

Upon slopes is where my dreams take flight
Ascending higher I embrace white,
The feeling of dismay comes to display
Yet within, a fire lights my way,
I face the cold
With a tale untold
Waiting to unfold,
The mountains stand vast, a sight to behold
As embers within grow cold,
Every fall is a test of will
Yet I instill,
Through every twist and turn
My spirit fiercely burns,
I found my stride
Increasing my pride
