Can You Hear Me?
In the endless field, I sit,
legs lifelessly limp,
my body fights to stay up.
Dry, itchy grass captures my shape,
but I remain unmoved,
gazing longingly at the cold, gray sky.
That house, rundown and unwelcoming,
where restless nights were spent together,
that house is home to my heart.
What lies within is worth the pain,
a love I swear exists.
But I’m here, enduring the harsh winds alone,
in this eerily quiet plain.
"Come join me, my love," I cry out,
to a man nestled inside,
in his plush armchair by the warm fire.
He doesn't hear.
He doesn't know I'm here.
Lost in the barren meadow alone.
