I am from the smell of the fresh turf

From my pads crashing into someone else's

To the heavy breathing after,

The Ear  piercing Crowd

To the gasps when someone gets tackled.

I am from the sight of the fresh nicely raked dirt,

From the sound of the hitting the ball

From the sound of catching the ball.

To the satisfaction of hitting a home run,

then jogging around the bases,

And coming home plate to your team cheering

I am from the roars of the Fourth of July,

A rocket firework like a snake flying out of a jack-in-the-box

From the boom that lights up the night sky.

From the food that my mom cooks,

And the time I get to spend with my family.

I am from eating a hot dog

And seeing the crash of pads

To the roar of the crowds that is like a bomb bursting.

The tension on the last play of the game,

To the celebration after.

I am front the smell of melty cheese on some salty chips

I am from the Snap of the Hot Dog

To the hearing sizzle on the grill

To the amazing melt-in-your-mouth brisket.

And the Saltiness on the nice soft baked pretzel.

I am from the heavenly sunsets,

To the drop-dead gorgeous mountains

To the thundering rainy days

To the blissful breezes

I am from Colorado.
