I am from the green grass of the outfield 

Making the diving grab to end the game 

Watching my favorite player hit the ball 

Sitting in the plastic seats with my crackerjack 

I know this is where I want to be,         

I am from the sliding play at home 

Feeling the sun against my skin as I sit way up high

Watching the big screen in center field to show the replay

I hear the quick crack, then the crowd started cheering violently 

The long ball flying so far and watching the group of people crowd around it to try to catch it 

I am from the smack of the pitch hitting the glove 

Curveball hitting the plate as the batter swings,

I can’t eat ballpark hotdogs, but the taste of nachos does me well 

The seventh inning stretch as we all stand up to sing 

Watching baseball is my favorite thing

I am from the spilled popcorn smelling like butter on the ground beneath my seat 

Drinking a sprite because I can’t have caffeine after noon

Watching the ball soar like a fighter jet

Knowing very well that I will be home very soon.

I am from playing the game too 

Hitting the ball and hearing the crowd shout

Running home and catching a strike 

Fielding a hard-hit ground ball and getting the runner out 

I am from the winning run 

Leaving the stands after our team has won 

After sitting in the baking hot sun

I just had so much fun

I am from baseball.
