'H.E.R'
She was like a sunflower in a gloomy field
Everywhere she goes, a bright radiance followed her
Her beige cardigan, her spirit of a golden retriever
Our eyes meet halfway through the night,
Her face turned red like a rose blush
Her innocent and novelty presence like a white duckling
They wonder about her like a sensual politics
The mind and heart argue like politics
Does she like me? Does she not?
My mind is hazy with thoughts of uncertainty
My fear of rejection steadily grows
I ask myself do I dare face fear and overcome
this hurdle, finally the time was right
But the answer wasn’t, I ponder on what I could’ve,
Done differently, or would it have made any differe.nce?
Why worry about the next chapter, when you already know the author.
In the end, I became content with reality and moved on.
