Foregiveness
Forgiveness
The mercy of another
What is mercy without tolerance?
What is forgiveness without love?
You must love someone to truly forgive
You must love all
Love unconditionally without malice
Love someone who does not deserve it
Let love be your guiding principle in life
Because without love, there is nothing
For it is love that has brought us together
And love that has kept us close
Those without continue to flail helplessly
And drown in their own hatred
They sink in their own resentment
Without the intention to change
Yet they persist to wonder why nothing has
Be that of someone who learns to swim
Let the hopes and dreams of your own faults be the drive of your forgiveness
So that you may let the your love flow like the continuous thrumming of your heart
And keep forgiving

I am a senior at Decatur High School. For this poem, we were to use some lines from the poet that we chose and incorporate that inside our poem. Our poet was Wendell Berry.
