Title of College
They ask me what I will do after high school.
I respond with a grin and an answer,
I will do not college
And my choice will only be an enhancer.
College is overrated.
It pays too much to get in,
And to get out.
It’s a trap everyone leads you to.
Some survive and thrive
Others, sad and deprived.
There is still the instilled fear
Of not completing college
And failing because of it
But I know, deep down
In the depths of my consciousness
I will make the correct choice,
And I will find the path best suited for myself. 17 lines
Perhaps, most people will
Whether they go to college
Or not.
Maybe, they will fit the stereotype and will be very successful.
But that is optimism
And they probably will not.
But I think I know I can avoid any distracting optimistic thoughts
By holding my plan close to my heart,
And going forth with a head held high,
And a resolute pace.
