Two birds lived on a wire-
Together
Yet separated.
Both at thought for the other's affairs
Too caught up
Too concerned
Of the other bird
To live for themselves

I am a junior in high school in Massachusetts. Very few people know that I like poetry, but I write poems from thoughts I have that I somehow cannot share any other way. This poem came to my mind when I noticed how birds behave similarly to us humans-- close but distant at the same time.
