Know (verb)- to perceive or understand as fact or truth

I know the healing power of my grandma’s comfort food

I know the color leaves turn in the fall

I know the ringing sound of family calling to chat

I know the way my dogs pant after a walk

I know the laugh of my best friend over the phone

I know the awe of something far older than any of us

I know the smell of chlorine and rush of warm air walking into a pool

I know the burn of too-hot tea on a cold day

I know the comfort of hugging my mom

I know the quacking sound of my sister practicing oboe

I know the feel of an old book in the back of the library

I know the chaotic joy of family game night

I know the nervous restlessness before a performance

I know the squeal of a baby giggling

I know the warmth of clean sheets at night

I know the sting of bare skin scraped on concrete

I know how it feels to be alive
