Beach poem
I’m almost there,
I usher up the hill
my flip flops dig a line between my toes
As I keep walking
my upward gaze is met with a painting
of intense orange and
quiet clouds, the sky must be a hundred times the beauty of the sea.
The sand is warmer
than the air and cushions my feet as I walk
nearer to the lonely Shore.
I hear Waves crashing, thundering
My heart is slowly beating
I breathe with the shore
over and over again getting higher the tide creeps up the sand.
The vanilla breeze is lukewarm and cool, and waves through my hair.
The clouds are grayish and blue now
The sky wearing cobalt to match
I stand still and watch the heavens change
and hear the waves continue to crash
but the ground still stays the same
so I stay still and watch.
