Growing Young
I don’t want to grow old
I don’t want to get a job
I don’t need to be successful
I just want to live
Please don’t make me try
Just let me have fun
Why should I stop the joy of childhood
And condemn myself to endless work
I don’t need a wife
I don’t need responsibility
I don’t want to pay my bills
I just want to live
Why can’t I just grow young?
Then life would only get better
I could get the pain over with
And end with complete ignorance and bliss

I wrote this just after I got my first job. I was feeling a lot of pressure and stress. I wrote this so I could put my mindset on a page. I want adults to realize the mental struggles of growing up.
