Society Lies About Beauty
Society lies about beauty
It's all floral and white glass
Her eyes moving like water
Her nose so sloped you could ski down it perfectly
She fit the scene
People look down at her in awe
But she wants to cry
Why don't I look like that?
She stares at the girl with hair so shiny, black and beautiful
Her lips the kind of strawberry shade of pink
The more apparent it becomes to everyone
Society lies about beauty

This piece for me, is what being a teenage girl in this day in age is like. I wrote it on behalf of all the teenage girls who might relate to it in some way. Society has unrealistic expectations of what beauty is. I hope all my girls know that they are beautiful. Another person's beauty is not the absence of your own.
