Extinction of Trucks

Power should only be given to the right person that will make good out of it. Realistically I'm talking about presidents. The president should be the one who looks out for the rest, helping the world from suffering.

My name is Rick and I am one of the biggest trucks, every other car would honk at me in the streets as I passed, but now I've been so lonely, away from the streets .” What is wrong with me ?” I ask myself as I see my owners walking to places. I work fine, I'm confused as to why they don't drive me instead as we always used to do. I feel abandoned in the garage now, and I barely fit here im a really big truck and I need to be outside. I miss going out, I used to make new friends in the parking lots while our owners went shopping inside the stores. My owners always treated me nice, they gave me weekly baths, and they used to feed me my favorite, gas. Now I'm starving, running low on fuel, why won't they just feed me?

I overheard my owners last night, they want to sell me….I cried to myself wondering why they don't like me anymore. They had said something about replacing me with a smaller car. But I work fine? the first time I ever met them, they had said I was the perfect car for them, what changed? The last time I went to my doctor, the auto shop, they said I was in perfect condition.

…IT FINALLY HAPPENED, after months of staying in the garage, my owners are finally taking me out. As im enjoying the roads I see all the bigger trucks looking upset. At a red light, I saw my friend, Millie, who is also a big truck, just like me. There was something off about her, she wasn't smiling anymore, and she didn't even look at me. The whole drive was really weird. We made a stop at the dealership, I was parked next to more trucks and other different cars, they looked upset as well, I do not know them but I still chose to reach out;

“Hey my name is Rick”-I said to the car next to me

“Hi,im Sasha “-they responded back

“May I ask why are you and the rest upset ?’’-I asked her

“You must be new to the news, Most of us big trucks are getting replaced with smaller cars that don't take much gas, “She told me

“Why? “I asked while I was choking on my words

“Gas prices are too high now, it's a shame for our president to do such a thing, now our owners are even scared of having to put gas “-She told me with more tears coming down her face

That explained everything. My heart ripped apart when she told me. I can't believe we are getting replaced over some gas. I understand my owners, they don't have much money, especially for some gas now, it's upsetting how much the president has done to put the ones in need in more complicated situations.

I saw my replacement, she's beautiful. It's a small grey Honda. As my owners were getting everything settled in, I couldn't help but keep making eye contact with them. I saw tears in their eyes, I was their first-ever vehicle, but everything is done for a reason. As I was getting towed away, the Honda passed by me, I heard my old owners naming her Sindi. She smiled at me and blinked her lights. I was gone now ….

Fast forward to 10 years….

As I was doing my new routine, being alone, getting washed once a week, and having to see new family members come into the dealership, walking past me I saw a familiar face. Something was so familiar ..IT WAS MY PAST OWNERS, they came back, as soon as they saw me they ran to me so happy. They went inside the dealership and came back out with a key. They got closer to me and I realized they bought me back. I saw the Honda they had replaced me with.

“Heyy what's going on?”-I asked Sindi

“The gas prices finally went down!!!” -she replied

‘“WHAT!! HOW-” I said with a really wide smile

“Throughout the years many people have reported and voted for the gas prices to go back to normal, and after years and years it finally got confirmed, so many owners are getting their old bigger cars back.”-she said while smiling at me.

Im finally going to be able to go back home, where I belong with my family.

This piece is a perspective of the cars towards what's going on in the world. It was an assignment that had to be done for class.
