To Have a Family
To have a Family
Is always having a home
Always having someone to turn to or fall back on whenever you may need
To have a family
Is to experience perpetuating love and understanding
To live in the harmonious unison of another’s soul
To have a family
Is to live the lives of many, joined to one
It’s an infinite celebration of choice and love
Basking in the beauty of a billion fleeting moments
To have a family, is to know that your heart, will always have a home.

For my entire life I’ve been searching for a place that feels like home, but recently, I realized that home is not always a place, sometimes it’s a person, sometimes it’s a group of people. While I’ve known my group for quite some time, it only hit me yesterday that they are my home. They are my people, the beautiful souls that I’m meant to spend my life with. This poem is dedicated to them. <3
