A Gathering
Hear me
I’m
Under the moon
Under the stars
Absorbing its light
On the hilltop
Feeling the breeze
Warm by the light of ourselves
We are chaos
Unorganized
But structured we seem
The sounds emitted
So strange at first
So familiar
So natural
Our voices cried out
Our hands beat a rhythm
We came together
Pulsating and breaking away and coming back
Varying our sound to fit with the whole
To march to the beat of our own drum
Women together
Feeling the apex of the moon’s cycle
Gathered here by a whispering wind
Which beckoned us on
Again we hope to meet
To be again together
For we were together
A gathering of individuals
Of separate entities
And yet
At the end
We were one.
