Everything Changes
There's a breeze,
it whispers
And continues
no matter how you feel
There's a heart
that beats
and lives
no matter how much you wished it didn't.
I never asked for this to change
For me, for you.
I guessed maybe we're both the same
But I still want to put the blame on you.
I see the lace turn to trim
Little frizzles at the end of my day
Everything in such a neat pattern
Only to be tossed away
You held my faith
And kept my secrets
To burn them in quiet
and you didn't even know it
I walked in circles
Around that house for days
Looking for an answer
In these clouded panes
No muse to tell us
And a God who answers to his will.
I feel alone sometimes
or like it's just a drill
But I wake up every morning
And sometimes not awake
Realizing that everything changes
When everything's at stake.
