She Sits in my Lap
There she sits hour after hour
telling me the time when she wakes
I always wait for her message to reply
Only to send her off again with my answer
Then we play a game together and lose track of time
Her bright colored face dark when I’m not present
And it lightens when I touch her hand
She is as confusing as quicksand
A thing I can never understand
Where she lives is a wondrous land
I can’t fix her only look on in her royal mess
That I have seemed to cause
But maybe another can fix her
Only I wished I could
Paid much for her I have
In a summer and a half
Over and over about her I’ve thought
