I Cannot Deny
I cannot deny there is a heart beneath my bed,
Hungry for the love and need that you have never fed.
I cannot deny there is a whole inside my chest,
From the lungs you took away, stealing all my breath.
I cannot deny there is a portal in my soul,
Where all the glad escaped me and I lost it as a whole.
I cannot deny that that you have taken both my ears,
When people tell me you were wrong, their defense I can’t hear.
I cannot deny that there is a mouth against the wall,
Shoved into obliviousness, I cannot speak at all.
I cannot deny there are two eyes no longer there,
To see the way you treat me never was, still isn’t fair.
I cannot deny there is a body in my room,
That cannot witness anything you ever say or do.
