William
My words bounce off the walls,
The sounds sink into crystal nothingness.
Friendship is the facade.
Shattered glass resembles
your voice-your temper.
But, we once had a relationship,
Trauma bonded us together,
But I repaired myself while you-
Sit comfortably
explosive and taped together.
You lack emotion for me, but you sink further in love.
Contradictory messages make up your actions.
Battles with past memories take over,
Reactions are uncalled.
As if addicted, I keep coming back.
Truly, you comprehend my past,
I still find sanctuary in the failing bond.
We lack the strength to move on.
I hop around broken glass-
Trying to find a safety within the safety.
While you reassemble the mess,
I wonder if letting go would be less painful.
