Beach
Moving up here has made me crave it.
The wind that blows my hair
Three hundred and sixty five days a year.
The sand that gets everywhere
And never vacuums up
No matter how hard you try.
The sounds,
That lull babies and adults alike
To a peaceful slumber.
The blue water that crashes around your feet,
Consistent each day with the tide.
My seasons were spent there,
Laughing with friends,
Growing up and in love.
My heart has always been connected
As I hear calls to me in my dreaming.
I walked the shores in daylight
And by moonlight under stars.
Never deserting me,
Always depending on its comfort,
Knowing there it will be,
Until I am old and gray,
And the years have faded by,
The steadiness of the beach
