Love's Rebound

Captivated by love’s song,
Our fading souls sing along.
Careful to the rhythm,
Addicted to the beat.
The alluring trance upon dawn’s
Dance will surely cast away.
Leaving the happily hopeless astray.
Sending the forever faithful to pray.
We watch with pity-filled eyes,
We cry with brutal cries.
Muffled by our strain.
Forgotten by our pain.
Excepting all in vain.
Because the truth remains the same…
We are lost
We are found
And that is love’s rebound.
