It's so early.
The alarm rings
I stumble, blindly,
into the bright lights.
The mirror glares back
and a phone rings below...
So early.
Someone picks up,
just like any other morning...
and then there's screaming;
screaming words....
words that seem impossible...
words that cannot be true...
and there are sobs
heart wrenching,
gut twisting...
and I freeze,
staring back at myself...
a million emotions,
all anchored by shock.
My breath catches in my throat,
and I can't breathe...
I can't cry...
I can't move...
and my heart pounds...
and it can't be true...
it's all too much...
and I didn't know him...
but, I wanted to...
and it's so early...
