THE TRANQUILITY OF WINDERMERE
The boats are out again,
On this bright and fresh morning,
Floating up the lake,
Making ripples in the water,
Each ripple reaches the pebbled shore.
The boats sail far to a distant mountain,
As I watch them leave,
So do the leaves leave the trees,
And flutter down into the water,
And the ducks quack on the pebbled shore.
The ducks fuss and racket,
Craving the crumbs falling from my hands,
The boats float back from behind the mountain,
Making ripples in the water,
The ripples and the boats reach the pebbled shore.
