the forever clocks
The ticks and the tocks
of the forever clocks
yet today they stopped
and the universe popped
It banged and it boomed
wondering if we're all doomed
I took a look around
everything seems safe and sound
But something seemed a bit strange
because our ages decided to rearrange
My mom had turned seven
and my baby sister is now eleven
My dad had turned four
and tried to crawl out the door
I sat and worried
and to the forever clocks I hurried
The time was set to now
yet seemed different some how
There had appeared some words
which before were always blurs
So now be sure that you pay extra attention
because I've learned an important life lesson
That if the forever clocks ever freeze
be sure to check the batteries!
