I feel the need to speak…

But I crawl away

Away away.

And I hope and dream of a better day, a day for me to be,
Be around people.

I say they just don’t like me

I am wrong.

I say I am just weird

I am wrong.

I curl up behind my wall, concealed,
hidden behind a seal, built by myself.

Have you ever felt that way?

Have you ever felt yourself trying to reach out to something
you are too frightened to touch?

Have you ever imagined yourself with the one you want
until it becomes real?

Then you realize,

It’s so far away

Away away

So far…

But it’s only you

Who is shrinking away.

There are many ways that I think the poem can be interpreted, so I hope many people have different views on it.

so very true. the only person that can hold you back is you.

Alright, I am the writer and after I submitted this poem I realized a lot of things I didn't like about the poem and that I wanted to change. Anyway, I know to change the "be around people" part.
