What I Know and Love
I am from a backyard hammock
And sing songs on the tire swing,
Climbing trees with you
And yelling to your mom to come Help me down.
I come from ice cream at Davis’
And chicken wing pizza at the Chicken coop.
I am from long walks on the trail
And climbing the rock mountain.
I come from catching minnows in The creek and
Getting lost in the corn field Across from the house.
I am from bike rides up to the School
And taking you guys to the park,
From cheering at York starting at Age 8,
And going shopping at random hours Of the night.
I am from tons of birthday parties
And just hanging out with friends.
I am from Pavilion, NY,
It’s what I know and love...
Now I am from mini skirts and pom-Poms,
Puma sneakers, adidas bags, and Nike cleats.
I'm from designer bags and Hollister clothes.
I am from friends twenty four Seven’
And Friday night football games.
I am from good grades, diverse Teachers,
And 5:30 mornings.
I am from hair and nails
And driving 1 1/2 hours to go Shopping.
I am from Terror Mansion, Wal-Mart,
And an empty mall.
I am from the small town of Massena,NY
And the gazebo near the river.
It’s what I know and love. . .?
