As you walk to the doorstep you trip and fumble over the fake props.

You hear the laughter of a holiday from inside.
Ghostly figures come through the trees.

You trip and fall once more.

“Trick or treat give me something good to eat, if you don’t I don’t

care, I’ll pull down your underwear.”

Memories from your childhood flicker through your mind, as children sing

Doorstep

To doorstep.
You miss the days of candy

Now you’re too old for that

You miss the innocent houses

That could never frighten you

Finally up to the door you knock lightly, and the door swings open

You see fog rising up from the deserted ground

You have no idea what is going on, and you already would like to leave

But no

You can’t let yourself down

There are reasons for this

And that’s the only reason why you’re here

You walk up the stairs and feel them cower beneath your weight

As you look down, you notice skulls and things scattered along the floor

You already hate it here, but you need to finish your mission

You don’t want to be made fun of anymore

You have to overcome your fear of ghosts, and goblins

And other things

Your fear of never becoming

one of those girls

The beautiful ones

The ones loved by many

But you will be one of those girls

Magically transformed after this

To a beautiful, indestructible girl

You reach the attic

And everyone turns their head

They knew who you were and what you were here for

The ouija board is out, and ready to call

The things you are afraid of

Spirits and monsters

You walk in, to never come back out

Happy Halloween?
