Walking Down the Street
A friendly face beside me
As we walk down the street
Our eyes and ears recording and hearing what’s going around
Older guys with bad breathes
Staring as if we were a picture
Music blasting out of this world
As we walk down the street
Little kids are yelling and chasing each other
Like cops do to criminals
But there was no crime just kids being kids
As we walk down the street
You here a lot of barks
Lost dogs and cats walking around
With hunger in their eyes
As we walk down the street
More friendly faces are seen
They yell hello and with a wave they are satisfied
A middle class street it is
A place where everyone gets along
As we walk down the street
We think
Oh what a place to live
Our neighborhood
The place I call home
