Broken Promise

she stares
with empty eyes
into her future
broken into pieces
pulled together with a thread of hope
called illusion
escaping into her own world
the most desirable option
she's been here before
swore she'd never go back
but it's back to haunt her
the same mistakes
disguise themselves in the skin of different desicions
but she still doesn't know
what to do
as change swirls around her
in an endless tirading whirlpool of pain
she sinks below the surface
to the depths of her very soul, spirit
hidden, hiding, waiting
but for what?
she doesn't know
