For no reason
a river of tears
could
d e s c e n d
from my face,
flooding a valley
by a familiar place.
A rush of water hurdling trees,
overflowing ponds
and swallowing streets.
Collapsing houses and drowning things,
disturbing to everything it meets.
Like a car going ninety, speeding by.
Only,
if only,
I could cry.
