Heartache
This is a poem for all the girls
Who have ever had their heart broken.
I miss your sweet eyes and heart.
The scent of strawberries wafts from crinkled curls
A fruit you always
Hated.
You haunt every corner of my mind
of my home
my room
my bed.
When I awake from dreams where we are still one,
Where our hands still find each other's
Where you still laugh, and feed me words of love and comfort
My pillows are often drenched
with tears
and my sheets are often drenched
with sweat.
My body shakes with fever
My mind quakes with pain
My heart breaks of promises
My pen shivers with words
I desperately want to say.
To take your face in my hands
Kiss your honey lips
brush your tears away
whisper the word
Forever.
