Frame My Future
My future: framed.
A picture of me; happily involved in unspoiled love.
Holding my future in the palm of my hand,
A lightly wrapped diploma.
My smile copyrighted from a Christmas “hallmark.”
My eyes, decorated with protruding tear drops.
My happiness has no boundaries.
I stand not alone in the picture framed.
My dad accompanies my hand, looking upon me as the favorite child.
My mother accompanies him.
They have flowers for me.
A gift unseen; their love.
My future, although hazy for some, is quite clear for me.
My unclouded thoughts of me finding success fill my mind.
I want to write with my heart,
See the world through a ballpoint pen,
Live life through black and white print.
I want to become an immortal journalist.
Writing using my soul as a compass excites me.
I know the First Amendment like I do the Ten Commandments;
Backwards and forewards.
Free Speech gives me the ever-desired independence to say what I want.
I’m the ring-leader in the circus of my life.
I control the destiny towards a goal unreached.
My life is still a story unfinished;
An article without an ending conclusion.
My life is significantly unwritten.
My pen is still frantically pacing across the paper.
I am still breathing my last breaths in high school.
Seeing my last moments pass away before I embark for the distant unknown.
I see myself succeeding.
I want to break down the walls of fear within myself
And create a more audacious self-being.
It is now time for me to grow up
And shed my inner child.
I am a work-in-progress;
In need of some dire editing.
As for current times though,
I see myself as ready….
Ready to see my future: framed.
