The Fragile Beats of a Broken Heart

The girl sat crying,
her heart silently breaking.
Tears slid down her face slowly,
staining her cheeks and nose.
She was beautiful.
Why had he done it?
Why would he break her beautiful heart.
It wasn’t fair.
Why could he act like everything was the same,
when she was just a tangled disaster.
She didn’t care.
She stopped caring.
The numbness that overtook her after they parted
surrounded her and made her forget.
She she forgot everyone, and everything.
Nothing mattered anymore.
She would sit like this,
crying absently,
forever.
The girl sat crying,
her heart silently breaking.
