A life has such an effect on one
I contemplate on how it can
With whiskers like little laces undone
A pitter-patter to places unrun
Have such an enormous impact on man
For a soul so slight as to fit in my hand
A watchful eye beneath the brush
Clenched between the left and right
How easy it would be to crush
A secret kept below a hush
Significant or trite
Deep within each he holds his fright
But to choose one and leave one behind
Sacrifice would be the game
Where size is impression, however confined
Of which, are we, so intertwined?
The lesser of two takes the name
The forgotten one is, left, in shame
To stack upon it such great consequence
Then surely man is left in shards
But to give the power to the annoyance
Man is sanctioned with obedience
For to give the ability to hold his own cards
Man trounces his opposer’s guard
