false alarm
The ringing blares as
Bells of caution go off
Constantly screaming their warning
You try to ignore them
Act like nothing is wrong
We both know better
The thought of facing the situation
Strikes fear
In the pit of your stomach
This feeling consumes you, doesn’t it?
It keeps you from doing the simplest
Functions as it slowly rules your life
Abruptly ending the relaxing sleep
And peaceful dreams you once had
If sleep does come,
The dreams are far from pleasant
They deceive you
For they, once again, trigger the bells
So, think you can get away from them?
You can’t.
So, please, listen to the bells
They aren’t a false alarm
