Gleeful Jimmy
Jimmy’s feet pounded the court
He passed the basketball
Which flew through the air
To be caught by his teammate firmly
That was his cue
The player bolted under the basket
And sliding to a halt at the 3-point line
His teammate passed back to him
But the ball fumbled through his hands
He looked at his fingers
They bloated like balloons
Soon after his skin deepened to a burnt orange
Jimmy rolled back like a marble
As his arms and legs shot into his body
The crowd in the stands screamed and squealed in shock
His round body leapt with glee
Spinning and ricocheting
Jimmy was left alone
As the other players ran into the locker room
The once athletic teammate
Was now a joyful basketball
