May First
it was the day so many promises were made,
the day my dreams came true.
you made me believe everything would be okay when you told me you loved me under the stars.
you probably don't remember when
you told me that i was beautiful
"not just because of your looks" you said
"but because you're all i could ever want"
then you kissed me.
and it was all okay.
may first was the day i fell in love
the day you started
to break my heart
you told me you were sorry. and that i was beautiful.
and that you didn't mean to hurt me.
really you were just too weak to tell me earlier that what we had was nothing anymore.
we both saw it coming.
our mirror of perfection had broke.
i'd just hoped that you'd keep trying for me,
for us.
october twenty sixth was the day my heart stopped breaking.
it was our end.
but it was just my new beginning
