A Simple Crush
That smile of hers you tell her you like,
That giggle you hear on the phone at night,
That light in her eyes when she sees your face,
She doesn’t understand why she feels this way.
She knows she barely knows you,
But that’s changing slowly,
She knows that you
Don’t understand her fully.
She can’t control the array of light you instill,
But she’s trusting you by her own free will.
If only her heart was free to roam,
You seem to make her smile shine,
And she’d love to whisper in your ear
“I want to make you mine.”
