Observing Death
One girl is crying
The other is not
She just sits there
Trying to calm her
But she’s stuck
She doesn’t know what to say
Trying to say something
Anything to soothe her
But oh so gently
To make her feel apart of the world again
She’s observing the girl who’s crying
How her hands are over her face
Just like the glass of a light bulb
How her heart
Is as breakable as the shell of an egg
She observed how the grass swayed
Like ballroom dancers in perfect rhythm
She watches the sun move
Choosing where to shine
As it plays peek-a-boo through the trees
Now no one is crying
Because love is like a carousel
Going round and round
Infinite and free
