Truth and Lies
What is truth
But a lie
Slanted, turned skewed into an illusion,
Flowing liquid over rock, sun in your hair,
The gentle curve of your eyes, innocence.
A voice like velvet, sweet like honey,
Trickling out of your lips.
What is a lie,
But the truth
Twisted and contorted, beaten down with a hammer,
Thrown against a wall and handcuffed, strangled animals locked in a cage,
Neatly arched, the arrow before it strikes its target,
Pinning me against the wall, a captive
In your carefully spun web.
