river styx
When man meets a force he cannot destroy-
He destroys Himself
In the plotting
Against the Force
He will Tire-
He will Fall-
He will Expire-
Loose it All-
On Hands and Knees
A painful Crawl
To the edge of the River
Lying on Styx
His heart is Failing
and he does quiver
hanging on awaiting Arrival
of the boat he Finally sees
captained by Death his Ultimate rival
garbed in a robe
with Hood and Scythe
with the oars embraced
in each bony hand
death paddles faster until banking on sand
gracefully stepping off the boat
Death makes His way
Picks up the man
Who Soon will Expire
Carries his body to the boat
Setting his Spirit and Themselves afloat
Looking back across the wake
Scenes flash from the mans life
He sees himself
A child-
An adolescent-
Adult-
Never Growing Old.
