It used to be so easy, back in those days
When I didn’t expect things to go my way
It’s not so easy anymore for me
With this constant mix of good and bad days
I find myself in the dark, unable to see
What will leave me in pain, what will make me happy
I’m not so far gone that I can’t see how this will likely end
When I’m in your arms its hard to breathe
I’m starting to drown, I’m in over my head
Can’t see exactly what is up around the bend
I have to hold onto hope or I’ll go insane
These mixed signals are the latest trend
I do not want to feel lonely or be left in pain
Feels like I’m going to collapse under the strain
There’s not much left for me to say
I’m waiting for the calming effects of the rain
