True Truths
The dripping silence weighs closely, carefully over my head,
The undeniable is filled with dread.
I can’t keep living in the past,
Believing all the scars will last.
Because they tend to dry and scab a bit,
But I’m not counting on any of it.
There is pain, cruelty, and abuse… true,
But the real beauty in the world comes from you.
Your smile and your laugh is a growing force,
With none of it filled with remorse.
Objects of your journey don’t lie,
For they are the ones you gratify.
Those tears that slipped slowly,
Are filled with folly.
Those supposed hardships that you faced,
You can’t escape or erase.
Life is a rollercoaster… true,
But the real ride is you.
