We label them as stupid
Cause we don’t understand
The different ways of thinking
Created by Gods hand
We say they just make trouble
Don’t stop to really look
They say we shouldn’t love em
That’s what made me shook
One of God’s creations
One of my mother’s sons
Beautiful outstanding
Laughs like coos like doves

They say they’re uncontrollable
We say the need YOUR love
But you go and ignore them
And their coos like doves

Their giggles made us tremble
Their love made us quake
Their understanding of us
Makes me stop to think

The beauty of these creatures
The Glory of our Lord
Just thinking about them
Starts to lift my heart

You labeled them retarded
I laugh in your face
These geniuses don’t label you

Just because the don’t have eye contact
Just because the bite and pinch
Just because they scream
And seem not to let you in
Just because they don’t talk
Just because they sing
My brothers and your brothers
Live unlivingly?

These children
They have courage
These children have
Bigger hearts
These children though they don’t speak
Are extremely smart
These children though
They are so different
They aren’t so different still
They are still God’s children
They are beautiful
BE STILL

I can relate so much to this. My sister is autistic, and sometimes it feels like everyone views her as an outcast. But I view her as my hero, my best fiend, and a beautiful child.
