Glass
Rewinding my mind
Analyzing everything that ever happened
Between you and me.
Every look,
there was lots.
Every touch,
a playful punch, nothing more.
Every word,
Words, words, limitless words
From your mind,
Shy and slowly blooming,
But ever limitless.
Those late night calls
When your mouth was bleeding.
Your father was angry.
I wanted to cradle you in my arms;
My own demons held me back.
Now she is cradled in yours,
Ever lithe and fragile
The porcelain doll of your childhood past which your sister kept.
Finally yours to gaze upon.
Your words, your image, tattooed across my soul
Burning like fire just wishing I could be porcelain.
I am only human, my friend
